Opening in select theaters this weekend before expanding nationwide next Friday, June 5, is the musical comedy drama Power Ballad co-written and directed by John Carney and starring Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Havana Rose Liu, Marcella Plunkett and Jack Reynor. John Carney (OnceBegin Again, Sing Street) & Gary Clark (Flora and Son, Modern Love) have composed the film’s original songs and score and Clark also as the project’s executive music producer. Opening in New York today before expanding to more markets in the coming weeks is the documentary Time and Water directed by Sara Dosa and produced by Shane Boris, Elijah Stevens & Jameka Autry about Icelandic writer Andri Snær Magnason.
