Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix this coming Wednesday, July 31, is the documentary Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa directed by Lucy Walker. Adam Peters (Savages, Snowden, Shantaram, Icarus, The Yellow Birds) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie, which centers on a Nepali mountaineer who risks everything on a Mount Everest climb to secure a brighter future for her daughters, premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival (with a different score) before being picked up by Netflix for a worldwide release.
