Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, The Beast Must Die, A Fantastic Woman, The Cave, Gloria Bell, Temple, The Responder) has recently scored the upcoming British supernatural horror drama Starve Acre. The film is written and directed by Daniel Kokotajlo (Apostasy) and stars Matt Smith, Morfydd Clark and Erin Richards. The movie based on the novel of the same name by Andrew Michael Hurley is set in rural 1970s England and follows an archaeologist and his wife who are relocating to their remote family estate, whose relationship is tested when their young son starts exhibiting strange behavior. Emma Duffy (Mari) and House Productions’ Tessa Ross & Juliette Howell (Life After Life, Sherwood) are producing the project. Herbert has previously scored the Ross- & Howell-produced 2022 feature The Wonder. Starve Acre is premiering this month at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival.
