Also opening wide is the thriller Homestead directed by Ben Smallbone and stars Neal McDonough, Dawn Olivieri, Bailey Chase, Kearran Giovanni, Susan Misner  and Tyler Lofton. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two songs by Roland Lewis and Justin James today. Opening in New York and Los Angeles this weekend before expanding nationwide next month is the epic drama The Brutalist written and directed by Brady Corbet and starring Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Stacy Martin, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Isaach de Bankolé, Emma Laird and Alessandro Nivola. Also opening in select theaters today is the coming-of-age drama Los Frikis written and directed by Michael Schwartz & Tyler Nilson and starring Hector Medina, Eros de la Puente, Adria Arjona, Jorge Perugorría, Luis Alberto Garcia and César Camilo Roque. Steven Price (Gravity, Fury, Last Night in Soho, Our Planet, Suicide Squad, Baby DriverThe World’s End) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which is set in early 90s Cuba and follows a 18-year-old teen who idolizes his older brother who deliberately inject themselves with HIV to live at a government-run treatment home, premiered at this year’s Miami Film Festival and is being distributed by Wayward/Range Releasing.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the horror thriller The Painted written and directed by Sasha Sibley and starring Aleksa Palladino, Sean Bridgers, Patrice Johnson and Jadon Cal. The film’s original music is composed by Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince,  Star Trek: Picard, Batman: Caped Crusader,Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Doom: Annihilation, Occupation: Rainfall) .
