Opening in theaters nationwide is the psychological thriller Speak No Evil directed by James Watkins and starring James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, Alix West Lefler, Aisling Franciosi and Daniel Hough. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Enemy, The Outsider, Fear the Walking Dead, The Devil All the Time, The Staircase, The White Tiger, Boy Erased, Tokyo Vice). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening wide today is the action comedy The Killer’s Game  directed by JJ Perry and starring Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Scott Adkins, Pom Klementieff, Terry Crews and Ben Kingsley. Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, In the Heart of the Sea, Evil Dead, Sexy Beast, The Machinist, The Commuter, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) has composed the film’s original music. Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the coming-of-age comedy The 4:30 Movie written and directed by Kevin Smith and starring Austin Zajur, Nicholas Cirillo, Reed Northrup, Ken Jeong and Siena Agudong. The film’s original’s music is composed by Bear McCreary (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Outlander, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead). Sparks & Shadows Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the his score, as well as two songs by the composer feat. Brendan McCreary today. Opening in New York and Los Angeles today before expanding nationwide on September 27 is the coming-of-age comedy drama My Old Ass written and directed by Megan Park and starring Maisy Stella, Aubrey Plaza, Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler and Kebrice Brooks. Singer/songwriter and actor Tyler Hilton and songwriter/guitarist Jaco Caraco have composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the French sci-fi drama Meanwhile on Earth (Pendant ce temps sur Terre) written and directed by Jérémy Clapin and starring Megan Northam, Sofia Lesaffre and Catherine Salée. The film’s original music is composed by Dan Levy (I Lost My Body, Breaking Point, Vesper, For My Country, Star Wars Visions: Sith, Empire of the Wolves).Because Music & One World Films have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this summer when the movie opened in France. Also opening in select U.S. theaters today is the British thriller The Critic directed by Anand Tucker and starring Ian McKellen, Mark Strong, Lesley Manville, Gemma Arterton, Ben Barnes, Alfred Enoch and Romola Garai. Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, Love Actually, The Great Gatsby, Romeo + Juliet, Ray,  The Incredible Hulk, The Quiet American) has composed the film’s original music. Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix on September 27 is the sports drama Rez Ball directed by Sydney Freeland and starring Jessica Matten, Kauchani Bratt, Cody Lightning, Ernest David Tsosie, Amber Midthunder, Dallas Goldtooth, Kusem Goodwind, Zoey Reyes and Julia Jones. The film’s original music is composed by Dan Deacon (Venom: The Last Venom, The Changeling, Twixt, Ascension, Wedding Season, All Light, Everywhere, Strawberry Mansion). Also opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix on September 27 is the documentary Will & Harper directed by Josh Greenbaum and featuring Will Ferrell who embarks on a cross-country road trip with his close friend of 30 years who is coming out as a trans woman. Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Watcher, Emily the Criminal, Swallow, Consecration, In the Same Breath, Minding the Gap) has composed the film’s original music. The movie also features the original song Harper and Will Go West written by Sean Douglas & Kristen Wiig. Also opening in select U.S. coming-of-age drama Girls Will Be Girls written and directed by Shuchi Talati and starring Preeti Panigrahi, Kani Kusruti and Kesav Binoy Kiron. The film’s original music is composed by Pierre Oberkampf. The composer has released a soundtrack album featuring his score last month when the movie opened in French theaters. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the comedy Winner directed by Susanna Fogel and starring Emilia Jones, Connie Britton, Zach Galifianakis, Danny Ramirez and Kathryn Newton. Heather McIntosh (Compliance,  Z for Zachariah, Cat Person, The Art of Self-Defense, The L Word: Generation Q, Partner Track, The Quarry) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which follows a brilliant, sarcastic young misfit from Texas who finds her morals challenged working as an NSA contractor, ultimately leaking Russia’s hacking campaign of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Vertical.

Also opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the supernatural thriller Here After directed by Robert Salerno and starring Connie Britton, Freya Hannan-Mills and Giovanni Cirfiera. The film’s original music is composed by Fabrizio Mancinelli (Coyote Lake, The Land of Dreams, Mushka, The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice). Music.Film Recordings/Lakeshore Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Another movie opening in select theaters and on VOD today before coming out on Blu-ray and DVD on October 8 is the sci-fi thriller Subservience directed by S.K. Dale and starring Megan Fox, Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth, Jude Allen Greenstein and Andrew Whipp. Jed Palmer (Upgrade, The Royal Hotel, The Infinite Man, Black Snow, OtherLife, Animals) has composed the film’s original music. Opening exclusively at Pacific Palisades’ Bay Theater while also premiering on Netflix today is the sci-fi thriller Uglies directed by McG and starring Joey King, Keith Powers, Chase Stokes, Brianne Tju, Jan Luis, Charmin Lee and Laverne Cox. Edward Shearmur (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Charlie’s Angels, Escape from Dannemora, Johnny English, Cruel Intentions, The Count of Monte Cristo) has composed the film’s original music.
