Nate Heller has provided the original score for the upcoming horror comedy Nightbitch. The film is written and directed by Marielle Heller and stars Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Zoë Chao, Emmett James Snowden, Archana Rajan, Mary Holland and Jessica Harper. The movie is based on Rachel Yoder’s debut novel of the same title and tells the story of a woman thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre signs that she may be turning into a canine. The director is also producing the project for Defiant By Nature, alongside Adams and Stacy O’Neil (Dead Ringers) for Bond Group, Anne Carey (20th Century Women, Mr. Holmes) for for Archer Gray, as well as Christina Oh (Minari, The Last Black Man in San Francisco) and Sue Naegle (Pam & Tommy, Shirley). Nate Heller has previously scored the director’s previous last three features, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Can You Ever Forgive Me? and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Nightbitch will be released in theaters on December 6, 2024 by Searchlight Pictures.
