Este Haim (of HAIM) (Maid, Cha Cha Real Smooth) and Amanda Yamate have teamed up to score the upcoming Netflix original film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. The movie is directed by Sammi Cohen (Crush) and stars Idina Menzel, Jackie Sandler, Adam Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Dylan Hoffman, Samantha Lorraine, Dan Bulla, Sarah Sherman, Ido Mosseri, Jackie Hoffman and Luis Guzmán. The family comedy is based on the book of the same name by Fiona Rosenbloom and follows two BFFs who’ve always dreamed about having epic bat mitzvahs, but things start to go awry when a popular boy and middle school drama threatens their friendship and their rite of passage. Alison Peck (Work It, UglyDolls) wrote the screenplay. Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy (The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy) are producing the project for Happy Madison, alongside Leslie Morgenstein (Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl) and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton (Purple Hearts, Everything, Everything) for Alloy Entertainment. Haim & Yamata have previously scored last year’s Netflix feature Do Revenge. You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah will premiere on August 25, 2023 on Netflix.

Haim’s other upcoming scoring projects include Laura Chinn’s Suncoast (co-scored with Chris Stracey). She also serves as the executive music producer on National Geographic’s A Small Light, which just premiered last week. Yamata has recently scored the Julie Cohen-directed documentary Every Body, which will be released in theaters this June by Focus Features.
