Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action comedy Bullet Train directed by David Leitch and starring Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sandra Bullock, Andrew Koji, Brian Tyree Henry and Michael Shannon. The film’s original score is composed by Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Peter Rabbit, Money Monster, The King’s Man) who also co-wrote and produced several of the songs from the movie. Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide next Friday, August 12, is the slasher movie Bodies Bodies Bodies directed by Halina Reijn and starring Amandla Stenberg, Rachel Sennott, Pete Davidson, Maria Bakalova, Lee Pace, Chase Sui Wonders, Myha’la Herrold and Conner O’Malley. The film’s original music is composed by Disasterpeace (It Follows, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Triple Frontier, Under the Silver Lake). Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD on August 12 is the comedy I Love My Dad written and directed by James Morosini and starring Patton Oswalt, Morosini himself, Claudia Sulewski, Amy Landecker, Lil Rel Howery, Ricky Velez and Rachel Dratch. Jeremy Bullock (Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, Chasing the Blues) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which follows a hopelessly estranged father who desperately wants to reconnect with his troubled son, premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being distributed by Magnolia Pictures.
Opening in select theaters and also premiering on Apple TV+ today is the animated feature Luck directed by Peggy Holmes and starring Simon Pegg, Jane Fonda, Lil Rel Howery, Whoopi Goldberg, Flula Borg Colin O’Donoghue, Adelynn Spoon and John Ratzenberger. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus). Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Art of Self-Defense, The L Word: Generation Q) has composed the film’s original score. Oscilloscope Laboratories have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and two songs by Isaac Brock & Grandaddy last Friday.
