The Bank Records will release a soundtrack album for the Danish TV series Borgen: Power & Glory. The album features selections of the original music from the fourth season of Borgen composed by August Fenger Janson (aka ELOQ) (Chosen). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 2 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The composer’s main title theme is already available to stream/download now. Borgen: Power & Glory is created by Adam Price and stars Sidse Babett Knudsen, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Simon Bennebjerg, Magnus Millang and Özlem Saglanmak. The political drama follows Foreign Minister Birgitte Nyborg as she finds her career in jeopardy when a dispute over oil in Greenland threatens to become an international crisis. The series premiered in Denmark on DR earlier this year and will premiere in the U.S. and most other markets on June 2 on Netflix.

Hi. I hope you do an interview with August Fenger Janson. His main title theme for Borgen- Power & Glory, is fantastic! His use of at least three voice elements to start- including one very unique one which is like a whisper used in a percussive way- is so fresh and then the cello and the violin elements give it soaring beauty and tension. I got the same amazing feeling that I do from the House of Cards and Game of Thrones themes. They all powerfully convey the themes of power and hubris which these three film/tv works explore. Forgive any unartful terms I use as I am not musically trained. I am just the lucky listener of works like this by brilliant composers. Thank you for this chance to comment.
Susan, I believe the vocal elements you refer to are aspects of Inuit throat-singing, to reflect the Greenlandic characters and storyline around which this new series of Borgen centres itself.
