Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, August 5, is the Canadian TV series Coroner developed by Morwyn Brebner based on the Jenny Cooper series of novels by M. R. Hall and starring Serinda Swan, Roger Cross, Alli Chung, Paniz Zade, Eric Bruneau, Ehren Kassam and Tamara Podemski. The show’s original music is composed by Tom Third (ReGenesis, The Summit, The Listener, Survivor Code). The crime drama, which revolves around a newly appointed coroner as she investigates a string of mysterious deaths in Toronto, premiered in Canada on CBC last year and is making its U.S. debut on The CW. Premiering on Thursday, August 6, is the comedy An American Pickle directed by Brandon Trost and starring Seth Rogen, Maya Erskine, Jorma Taccone and Sarah Snook. Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Lost, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, Doctor Strange, The Incredibles) has provided the themes and Nami Melumad (Absentia) has composed the film’s original score.
