The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw directed by David Leitch and starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren. The film’s original score is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, John Wick, 300). Opening in limited release is the psychological thriller Luce directed by Julius Onah and starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer and Tim Roth. Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Annihilation, Ex Machina, Hanna, Free Fire) have composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records & Invada Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Also opening in limited release is the horror drama The Nightingale written and directed by Jennifer Kent and starring Ainsling Franciosi, Sam Claflin and Baykali Ganambarr. The film’s original music is composed by Jed Kurzel (Alien Covenant, Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed, The Mustang) who previously scored Kent’s The Babadook. No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters is the documentary Love, Antosha directed by Garret Price and featuring appearances by Jennifer Lawrence, Jodie Foster, Kristen Stewart, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Frank Langella, Willem Dafoe and J.J. Abrams. The movie features original songs by late actor Anton Yelchin. Lurker Productions has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie. Also opening in select cities is the horror drama Them That Follow written and directed by Britt Poulton & Dan Madison Savage and starring Olivia Colman, Kaitlyn Dever, Alice Englert, Jim Gaffigan, Walton Goggins, Thomas Mann and Lewis Pullman. Garth Stevenson (Tracks, Chappaquiddick, 10,000 Saints) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Another limited release this week is the thriller The Operative written and directed by Yuval Adler and starring Diane Kruger, Martin Freeman and Cas Anvar. The film’s original music is composed by Frank Ilfman (Big Bad Wolves, Ghost Stories, The Operative, Rory’s Way). No soundtrack album has been released. Also opening in select U.S. theaters is the French/Belgian drama 15 Minutes of War (L’intervention) directed by Fred Grivois and starring Olga Kurylenko, Alban Lenoir, Vincent Perez and Josiane Balasko. Mike & Fabien Kourtzer (Corporate, Number One) have composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score when the movie opened overseas earlier this year. Opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the comedy drama Otherhood directed by Cindy Chupack and starring Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, Felicity Huffman, Jake Lacy, Sinqua Walls and Jake Hoffman.
