Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, Dear Evan Hansen) will contribute music for and serve as executive producers on an upcoming, currently untitled, musical drama for Showtime. The show will tell a family story that interweaves modern-day and 1959 Detroit, centering on a mystery uncovered by a young musician who moves back to her childhood home. Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants musical) is writing the series and is also executive producing the Fox 21 Television Studios production with Alice Keys, Marc Platt (La La Land, Bridge of Spies), R.J. Cutler (Nashville, The September Issue) and Adam Siegel (Grease: Live!). Showtime has already given the drama a full series order. No word yet on a premiere date. (Variety & Deadline)

Pasek and Paul are also involved in a live-action adaptation of Disney’s Snow White and in Blue Sky Studios’ upcoming animated feature Foster.
