Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell) is scoring the upcoming Sky original series Temple. The show is developed by Mark O’Rowe (Boy A, Broken) based on the Norwegian series Valkyrien and stars Mark Strong, Carice van Houten and Daniel Mays. The 8-part comic thriller is set in the secret world beneath London, where an illegal clinic has been set up in an abandoned subterranean network of tunnels and follows a surgeon driven by personal tragedy to treat anyone who is willing to pay for medical help outside the system. O’Rowe & Strong are also executive producing the project with Liza Marshall (Before I Go to Sleep, Riviera) for Hera Pictures, alongside Gabriel Silver (Chernobyl) & Anne Mensah (Patrick Melrose, A Discovery of Witches) for Sky. Herbert has previously scored the Marshall-produced documentary Life in a Day. Temple will premiere later this year in the UK on Sky One.
Herbert has also recently scored Danielle Lessovitz’s drama Port Authority starring Fionn Whitehead, Leyna Bloom and McCaul Lombardi. The movie premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date.
