Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6Jumanji: Welcome to the JungleKingsman: The Secret Service) is attached to score the (currently untitled) next installment in Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse movie franchise. The film is directed by Grant Sputore (I Am Mother) and stars Dan Stevens (who reprises his role as Trapper), as well as Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Sam Neill, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Matthew Modine and Delroy Lindo. No plot details have been announced yet. Dave Callaham (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Michael Lloyd Green wrote the screenplay. Jackman has previously scored the second Monsterverse movie, Kong: Skull Island. The other previous installments in the feature series were scored by Alexandre Desplat (Godzilla), Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Tom Holkenborg (Godzilla vs. Kong) and Holkenborg & Antonio Di Iorio (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire). The project’s crew was announced by Screen Queensland as production of the film has kicked off in Australia. The sequel is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on March 27, 2027 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

    Fascinating. His Kong score didn’t wow me but he’s one of my favorites generally. Hopefully a more balls-to-the-walls film will bring out a little more of that Marvel Jackman
