Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of WaterHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s SpeechPhilomena, The Queen) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming sci-fi/action adventure Jurassic World: Rebirth. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, he Creator) and stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Ed Skrein, Philippine Velge and Bechir Sylvain. The movie is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion and follows an intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air. David Koepp (Spider-Man, War of the Worlds) who previously scripted the original Jurassic Park film and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, wrote the screenplay. Frank Marshall (Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) and Patrick Crowley (The Bourne Identity, Twisters) are producing the project. Desplat has previously collaborated with Edwards on 2014’s Godzilla and 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which Michael Giacchino ended up scoring. Desplat has been recording his score last month at Abbey Road Studios in London. Jurassic World: Rebirth will be released in theaters nationwide on July 2, 2025 by Universal Pictures.

Desplat’s other upcoming projects include Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme (to be released in theaters on May 30) and Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein (to premiere this November on Netflix).
