INNI has released a soundtrack album for the Icelandic TV series The Darkness. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Atli Örvarsson (Silo, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Vantage Point, Defending Jacob, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle, Rams) Kjartan Holm (The Minister, Blackport) & Sin Fang (aka Sindri Már Sigfússon) (Foscadh, Duino). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composers’ main titles track after the jump. The Darkness is based on the best-selling thriller bookseries by Ragnar Jónasson and stars Lena Olin, Jack Bannon, Douglas Henshall, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Þorvaldur Davíð Kristjánsson, Thorsteinn Bachmann, Tora Hallström, Ahd Tamimi and Árni Þór Lárusson. The noir thriller directed by Lasse Hallström follows a detective investigating a shocking murder case and faced with an impending early retirement who is forced to take on a new partner is determined to find the killer, even if it means putting her own life in danger. The series premiered in Iceland last September, in several other international markets over the last couple of months, and will debut in the UK this year on Channel 4. No word yet on a domestic debut.
