David Holmes and Keefus Ciancia have composed the music for the upcoming BBC America mini-series London Spy. The show is created by author Tom Rob Smith (Child 44) and stars Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling and Edward Holcroft. The five-parter centers around a chance romance between two people from very different worlds, one from the headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service, the other from a world of clubbing and youthful excess. Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall, The Bridge) is directing all five episodes. Smith is also executive producing the project with Juliette Howell (Mary and Martha, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Rush, Atonement, Les Miserables) for Working Title Television and Polly Hill. Holmes whose previous scoring credits include the Ocean’s trilogy and Out of Sight and Ciancia have previously co-scored the BBC series The Fall and the features The Motel Life and Diana. Ciancia’s upcoming projects also include Jackie Earle Haley’s Criminal Activties starring John Travolta and Dan Stevens. The drama has been picked up by Image Entertainment for domestic distribution and is expected to be released in 2016.
