Mark Ronson and Geoff Zanelli have composed the music for the upcoming action comedy Mortdecai. The film is directed by David Koepp (Premium Rush, Stir of Echoes) and stars Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Jeff Goldblum and Paul Bettany. The movie follows a debonair art dealer and part time rogue who must traverse the globe in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold. Eric Aronson has written the screenplay. Depp is also producing the OddLot Entertainment production with Gigi Pritzker (Drive, Ender’s Game), Andrew Lazar (Get Smart, Space Cowboys), Christi Dembrowski (Dark Shadows, The Rum Diary) and Patrick McCormick (Peter Pan, Jack the Giant Slayer). The project marks the film scoring debut of Ronson who is best known for his work as a DJ and music producer. Zanelli has previously collaborated with Koepp on the 2008 feature Ghost Town and the 2004 thriller Secret Window. Mortdecai is set to be released on January 23, 2015 by Lionsgate.
