Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Rendition, Pitch Perfect) is the composer of the series. The show centers on the only woman in the notoriously male Texas Rangers. Britt, Aaron Spears, Latarsha Rose, Robinne Lee and Stephen Bishop. The show’s original music is composed by Kurt Farquhar (Moesha, Girlfriends, Not Easily Broken). Being Mary Jane follows a successful talk show host, her professional and private family life, as she is searching for “Mr. Right”. The drama will air every Tuesday night on BET. Premiering on Wednesday, January 8, is the new Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago PD created by Dick Wolf & Matt Olmstead and starring Jason Beghe, Sophia Bush, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, Archie Kao, Elias Koteas, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer and Marina Squerciati. Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Eagle) is composing the show’s original music. The composer is also scoring NBC’s Chicago Fire. Premiering on Thursday, January 9, is the comedy mini-series The Spoils of Babylon created by Matt Piedmont & Andrew Steele and stars Will Ferrell, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen, Tim Robbins and Kristen Wiig. The six-part series’ music is composed by Andrew Feltenstein & John Nau (Casa De Mi Padre, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Bachelorette). Premiering on Friday, January 10, is the Syfy original series Helix created by Cameron Porsandeh and starring Billy Campbell, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kyra Zagorsky, Jordan Hayes, Catherine Lemieux, Neil Napier and Mark Ghanime. Reinhold Heil (Cloud Atlas, One Hour Photo, The International, I, Frankenstein) is composing the show’s original score. Missing from last week’s roundup was the ABC mini-series The Assets based on the book Circle of Treason: A CIA Account of Traitor Aldrich Ames and the Men He Betrayed by Sandy Grimes & Jeanne Vertefeuileand starring Paul Rhys, Jodie Whittaker, Harriet Walter, Stuart Milligan, Julian Ovenden, Christina Cole and Ralph Brown. The series’ original music is composed by Scott Salinas (The Millionaire Tour). The Assets follows two CIA counter-intelligence officers who vowed to find the mole that would turn out to be the most notorious traitor in US History against the backdrop of the Cold War.
