Quartet Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the drama The Impossible (Lo Imposible). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velazquez (Devil) who previously scored director J.A. Bayona’s 2007 hit film The Orphanage. The music was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and performed by The London Metropolitan Orchestra & Kup Tadea Choir. The soundtrack is now available to order as an import on the label’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips from the score. The Impossible starring Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts and Tom Holland is based on the true story about a family caught in mayhem of the tsunami that hit the coast of Thailand in 2004. The movie premiered last month at the Toronto Film Festival and will be released in the US on December 21, 2012 by Summit Entertainment. The soundtrack release coincides with the film’s release in Spain next week. Check out the film’s trailer below or in hi-res on Apple’s trailer website.
