Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Already in theaters since this past Wednesday is the action comedy Hit & Run directed by Dax Shepard and David Palmer and starring Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, Beau Bridges, Kristin Chenoweth, David Koechner and Michael Rosenbaum. The film’s score is composed by Julian Wass and Bob Mervak has provided additional music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs by artists including Ishmael Jingo, Lou Rawls, Kool and the Gang, John Martyn, Dazz Band and The Highlighters. Also opening wide is the action thriller Premium Rush co-written and directed by David Koepp and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung, Dania Ramirez and Michael Shannon. David Sardy (Zombieland, 21, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been released so far. The movie follows a New York City bike messenger who picks up a package at Columbia University and subsequently catches the attention of a dirty cop. The final wide release of the week is the horror film The Appartition directed by Todd Lincoln and starring Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan and Tom Felton. The movie’s score is composed by tomandandy (Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Strangers). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer duo’s original score. Opening in limited release is the non-verbal documentary Samsara directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson (Baraka, Chronos), which documents document sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes and natural wonders . The film’s music is composed by Michael Stearns, Lisa Gerrard and Marcello De Francisci. A soundtrack album featuring the movie’s music has been released on Varese Sarabande. Also opening in limited release is the French drama Little White Lies (Les petits mouchoirs) written and directed by Guillaume Canet and starring Marion Cotillard, Benoît Magimel, Jean Dujardin, François Cluzet and Gilles Lellouche. Les Productions Du Trésor has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs by artists including Jet, The Isley Brothers, David Bowie, McCoys, Janis Joplin, Ben Harper and Sixto Rodriguez. Opening in New York before expanding to more cities next weekend is the comedy drama Sleepwalk With Me directed by Mike Birbiglia and starring himself, Lauren Ambrose, James Rebhorn, Carol Kane, Cristin Milioti and Aya Cash. Andrew Hollander (Waitress, Serious Moonlight) has composed the film’s score. No soundtrack album has been released. The movie centers around a standup comedian who is struggling with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship  and spurts of severe sleepwalking.
