Deborah Lurie is currently recording the score for the upcoming music documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. The movie follows Justin Bieber with some footage of performances from his 2010 concert tour and will be released in 3D early next year. Also appearing in the film is Miley Cyrus and Jaden Smith. The documentary is directed by Jon Chu who directed this year’s Step Up 3D and 2008’s Step Up 2: The Streets, where he worked with composers Bear McCreary and Aaron Zigman. He recently uploaded a short video from the recording sessions of the score on Twitter, which can be watched here. As reported earlier this month, Lurie also has the teen comedy Prom coming out this spring. Visit our previous article to find out more about the assignment.
What a waste of talent
Just read on Deborah Lurie’s website originally posted on ASCAP that “Deborah Lurie discovered she had a condition called synesthesia, whereby the sound of a note causes her to visualize a certain color.” Did Lurie see purple when writing Justin’s score?
