Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Phantom of the Open, Emma, Vita & Virginia, Munich: The Edge of War, Roar) has recently been recording her score for the upcoming noir thriller Magpie. The film is directed by Sam Yates (Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar) and stars Daisy Ridley, Shazad Latif and Matilda Lutz. The movie follows a couple whose lives are thrown into disarray when their daughter is cast opposite a controversial major star. Actor Tom Bateman wrote the screenplay. Ridley & Bates are also producing the project for Werewolf Films, alongside Kate Solomon (7 Days in Entebbe, The Program) for 55 Films. Magpie is currently in post-production. No word yet on premiere/release date.
Waller-Bridge’s other recent feature projects include Alice Troughton’s The Lesson (originally entitled The Tutor), which just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and will open in U.S. theaters on July 7.
