Howe Records has released a single featuring a track from the soundtrack for David Cronenberg’s drama Maps to the Stars. The film’s music is composed by the director’s regular musical collaborator Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silence of the Lambs, The Departed). The single is now available to download on Amazon. Check out an audio clips from the track after the jump. A full soundtrack album is scheduled to be released this fall. Maps to the Stars starring Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, Olivia Williams, Evan Bird and Sarah Gadon. The drama tells the story of an archetypical Hollywood dynasty, including a psychotherapist, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; his wife who manages the career of their thirteen-year-old child star son; and their daughter who has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was admitted for the treatment of criminal pyromania. The movie just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and is being released in France and Germany today. No word yet on a domestic release.
