Michael Brook has been tapped to score the upcoming indie drama Cry/Fly. The film marks the English language debut of director Claudia Llosa (The Milk of Sorrow) and stars Jennifer Connelly, Cillian Murphy and Melanie Laurent. The movie is set in Minnesota and northern Canada over two time periods and follows a mother who gets separated from her sick daughter and falcon-keeper son. Two decades later, the son is persuaded by a journalist to embark on a search for his now-famous mother. Llosa has also written the screenplay and Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Notebook) is producing the America/Spanish co-production with Jose Maria Morales (XXY) and Ibon Cormenzana (Blancanieves, Blackthorn). Cry/Fly is expected to premiere in 2014.
As previously reported, Brook also has the biopic Chavez starring Michael Pena and the comedy Cas & Dylan starring Richard Dreyfuss coming up.
