Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film Don’t Say Good Luck. The album features the movie’s original score composed by multi-instrumentalist, music producer, artist, and composer Yuli (Murder 101) who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. Also included are the cover songs from the film produced by Nick Baxter performed by lead actress Sunny Sandler and other cast members. Premiering on Thursday, August 13, is the Australian Netflix original series My Brilliant Career developed by Liz Doran based on Miles Franklin’s classic novel of the same title and starring Philippa Northeast, Christopher Chung, Anna Chancellor, Kate Mulvany, Genevieve O’Reilly, Alexander England, Sherry-Lee Watson, Jake Dunn and Miah Madden. ‘Yuli’ Soundtrack Released
Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Yuli. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, Volver, The Skin I Live In). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. A CD version will be announced soon. Yuli is directed by Icíar Bollaín and stars Carlos Acosta, Santiago Alfonso, Keyvin Martínez and Edilson Manuel Olbera Nuñez. The movie tells the story of Cuban ballet superstar Carlos Acosta’s rise from the streets of Havana to the heights of classical ballet, becoming the first black principal guest dancer at the Royal Ballet in London.
Alberto Iglesias to Score Iciar Bollain’s ‘Yuli’
Alberto Iglesias has signed on to score the upcoming biographical drama Yuli. The movie directed by Iciar Bollain (Even the Rain, Take My Eyes) tells the story of Cuban ballet superstar Carlos Acosta’s rise from the streets of Havana to the heights of classical ballet, becoming the first black principal guest dancer at the Royal Ballet in London. Paul Laverty (I, Daniel Blake, The Wind That Shakes the Barley) wrote the screenplay based on Acosta’s autobiography No Way Home. The project is produced by BBC Films, Potboiler Productions and Spain’s Morena Films.
