Sub Pop Records has released a soundtrack album for the ABC comedy The Mayor. The album features the original songs from the show performed by Brandon Micheal Hall (aka Courtney Rose) and members of the cast, and written by Daveed Diggs, William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes (of the group Clipping). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released individual songs as digital singles. The Mayor is created by Jeremy Bronson and stars Hall, alongside Lea Michele, Bernard David Jones, Marcel Spears and Yvette Nicole Brown.

Songs from ABC’s ‘The Mayor’ to Be Released
ABC has announced that Sub Pop Records will release music from the ABC comedy The Major every Friday, preceding each Tuesday night episode throughout the season. The first two tracks, Right Here from the pilot episode is now available to download on iTunes and the song Brokenomics from The Filibuster episode can be downloaded here. Sundance 2012 Film Music Roundup (Part 4)

One of the best received films that premiered at the festival is the drama Smashed directed by James Ponsoldt (Off the Black). The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Paul as s a married couple whose bond is built on a mutual love of alcohol and whose relationship is put to the test when the wife decides to get sober. The cast also includes Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and Mary Kay Place. Ponsoldt co-wrote the screenplay with Susan Burke and Jennifer Cochis, Jonathan Schwartz, Andrea Sperling (Like Crazy) are producing. The film’s music is written by Andy Cabic and Eric D. Johnson. While the project marks Cabic’s feature scoring debut, Johnson has previously written the music for the Uma Thurman-starring romance Ceremony and co-scored last year’s indie comedy Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd.
