Madison Gate Records has released a new soundtrack album for the British action series Strike Back. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s seventh season composed by Scott Shields & Paul Saunderson (Three Identical Strangers, 100 Streets, The More You Ignore Me). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Varese Sarabande has previously released a soundtrack album featuring Shields’ score from the third and fourth season of the drama. Season 7 of Strike Back starring Daniel MacPherson, Warren Brown, Alin Sumarwata, Jamie Bamber and Yasemin Allen premiered earlier this year in the UK on Sky One and in the U.S. on Cinemax.

‘Strike Back’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the British action series Strike Back. The album features selections from the original score of show’s third and fourth season composed by Scott Shields. Also included is the show’s theme song Short Change Hero by the British rock group The Heavy. The soundtrack will be released on May 27, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Strike Back based on the novel of the same name by former Special Air Service (SAS) soldier Chris Ryan follows the actions of Section 20, a secretive branch of the British Defense Intelligence service (DI), which operate several high risk, priority missions throughout the globe.
Two new projects for Ilan Eshkeri
Ilan Eshkeri recently finished recording the scores for two new film projects. The Kid is a movie about central character Kevin Lewis, whose early life suffered from appalling parenting and bullying at school. The movie directed by Nick Moran stars Rupert Friend, Natascha McElhone and Ioan Gruffudd. Falcon Films will release the movie in the UK later this year. In addition to writing the original score, Eshkeri also co-produced the recordings of classical music references for the movie, including sections from Elgar’s cello concerto and Brahm’s third symphony. Eshkeri also wrote the music for the Sky mini-series Strike Back. Strike Back follows the lives of two former soldiers, Major Hugh Collinson and discharged veteran John Porter, who meet for the first time during a Middle East hostage crisis. The six-part series will air on British TV later this year. The music was also recorded with the London Metropolitan Orchestra, who posted an entry about the recording sessions on their blog.
