Nicolas Errèra (Shaolin, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, Hidden Man, Adoring Mountain Cry) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming Hong Kong thriller Raging Fire (Nou fo). The film is written and directed by Benny Chan (New Police Story, Call of Heroes, Invisible Target) and stars Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse, Qin Lan, Ray Lui, Patrick Tam and Kenny Wong. The movie follows a cop too honest for his own good whose past comes back to haunt him when his sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals, led his former protégé.

The only movie opening nationwide is the horror thriller The Grudge written and directed by Nicolas Pesce and starring Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye and Jacki Weaver. The film’s original music is composed by The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Life of Crime, Oculus). No soundtrack album has been announced. ‘Adoring’ Soundtrack Released
Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese comedy drama Adoring (Chong ai). The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicolas Errèra (Shaolin, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, Hidden Man, The White Storm, Mountain Cry). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Adoring is directed by Larry Yang and stars Lei Wu, Beibi Gong, Wallace Chung, Zishan Yang, Zifeng Zhang, Hong Tao, Hewei Yu, Gaowa Siqin and Landi Li. The movie revolves around a pet center owner and vet as she witnesses six stories among the pets and their owners.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated sequel Toy Story 4 directed by Josh Cooley and starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger and Tony Hale. The film’s original music is composed by Randy Newman (Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Life, Cars, The Natural, Avalon). The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir is directed by Ken Scott (Starbuck) and stars Dhanush, Erin Moriarty, Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Gerard Jugnot, Abel Jafri and Ben Miller. The movie is based on a novel by Romain Puertolas follows a hustler from Mumbai who embarks on an extraordinary voyage across Europe in search of his estranged father.
Jiang Wen’s ‘Hidden Man’ to Feature Music by Nicolas Errera & Aaron Zigman
Nicolas Errèra (Shaolin, The Butterfly) has recently scored the Chinese action drama Hidden Man. The film is directed by Jiang Wen (Gone with the Bullets, Let the Bullets Fly) who also stars in the movie alongside actress Eddie Peng, Zhou Yun, Liao Fan and Xu Qing. The movie is set in 1930s China and follows a young swordsman who returns home to try and solve a five-year-old murder case. Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, Bridge to Terabithia, John Q, The Proposal) has reportedly also contributed music to the film.
‘The Confession’ (‘La confession’) Soundtrack Released
ENKA has released a soundtrack album for the French romantic drama The Confession (La confession). The album features the film’s original music composed, orchestrated and conducted by Nicolas Errera (Shaolin, The Butterfly, Mountain Cry, The White Storm). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Confession is directed by Nicolas Boukhrief and stars Romain Duris, Marine Vacth, Anne Le Ny, Solene Rigot, Amandine Dewasmes, Lucie Debay and Charles Lefebvre. The movie is based on th Beatrix Beck novel Leon Morin, Pretre and revolves around a young woman who confesses, while lying on her deathbed, that she fell in love with a priest in Occupied France during the Second World War.
‘Mountain Cry’ Soundtrack Released
Enka has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese drama Mountain Cry. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicolas Errera (Shaolin, The Butterfly, The White Storm). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mountain Cry is written and directed by Larry Yang and stars Lang Yueting, Wang Ziyi, Cheng Taishen, Yu Ailei, Guo Jin, Xu Caigen, Zhao Chendong and Li Siying. The movie based on the novel by Ge Shuiping is set in 1980s post-Cultural Revolution era China and revolves around a man who is obliged to look after a mute woman after her husband’s violent death.
‘The Awakening’ Soundtrack Announced
MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records label has announced a soundtrack release for the supernatural thriller The Awakening. The album includes the original score from the film by composer Daniel Pemberton (Peep Show). A soundtrack CD will be released on November 8, 2011 and a digital release is also planned through 1812 Recordings. The Awakening is directed by Nick Murphy and stars Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton. In the movie, a ghost-debunker comes to a boy’s school to disprove the existence of ghosts, only to find her own beliefs challenged. The thriller has been picked up for domestic distribution at the Toronto Film Festival by Cohen Media Group.
