MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records label has announced a soundtrack release for the supernatural thriller The Awakening. The album includes the original score from the film by composer Daniel Pemberton (Peep Show). A soundtrack CD will be released on November 8, 2011 and a digital release is also planned through 1812 Recordings. The Awakening is directed by Nick Murphy and stars Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton. In the movie, a ghost-debunker comes to a boy’s school to disprove the existence of ghosts, only to find her own beliefs challenged. The thriller has been picked up for domestic distribution at the Toronto Film Festival by Cohen Media Group. The film will be released in the UK on November 8 and no domestic release date has been set yet.

MovieScore Media will also be releasing a soundtrack for the Hongkong action adventure Shaolin. The album features the orchestral score by Nicolas Errèra and will be released digitally on October 25, 2011 and physically on November 1. Shaolin is directed by Benny Chan (New Police Story) and stars Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse and Jackie Chan. The movie has been released in theaters earlier this year and is set for a home video release on October 25 on Bluray and DVD. To find out more about the film, visit the official US movie website.
