Netflix Music will release a new soundtrack album for the streamer’s original animated series Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Brad Breeck (Gravity Falls, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Kiff, We Bare Bears, The Owl House). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 17 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to two tracks from the composers’ score below. The label has previously released an album featuring the composer’s music from Season 1 earlier this year. Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 is developed by Eric Robles based on hit live-action Stranger Things series and stars Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Luca Diaz, Braxton Quinney, Elisha “EJ” Williams, Ben Plessala, Brett Gipson, Odessa A’zion, Lou Diamond Phillips, Janeane Garofalo, Alessandra Antonelli, Valeria Rodriguez and Jack Griffo.

Bryce Dessner Scoring Netflix’s ‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’
Bryce Dessner (of The National) (Train Dreams, The Two Popes, Sing Sing, We Live in Time, Cyrano, The Accountant 2, Bardo, She Came to Me, Manhunt, A Good Person, Widow Cliquot) has recently composed the original music for the new Netflix limited series Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. The show is created by Ian Brennan (Glee, Hollywood) and stars Ella Beatty, Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Joey Pollari, Jessica Barden, Billie Lourd and Sarah Paulson. The fourth installment of the Monster anthology series (following 2022’s The Jeffrey Dahmer Story scored by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, 2024’s The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story scored by Thomas & Julia Newman and last year’s The Ed Gein Story scored by Mac Quayle) explores the case of Lizzie Borden who – trapped in a cruel Victorian-era household – kills her parents in a gory ax murder that shocks the nation.

Explosions in the Sky Scoring Peter Berg’s ‘The Mosquito Bowl’
The post-rock band Explosions in the Sky is reuniting with director Peter Berg (Hancock, Deepwater Horizon) on the upcoming Netflix original film The Mosquito Bowl. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Buzz Bissinger and stars Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Dominic Bogartt and Brent Comer. The sports drama is set in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor and tells the story of four US college football stars who enlist in the Marines, discovering the strength of brotherhood and the cost of war.

The album features the show’s main title and end credit theme composed by Emmy Award winner Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Bottoms, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous). Also included are the songs Come Inside of Me written by Leland & Andrew Law and performed by Matt Rogers (in two different versions), Rude performed by Al Roberts & Keith Harrison Dworkin, grentperez’s cover of The Carpenters’ Yesterday Once More, as well as an instrumental “Erhu Version” of the track produced by Birenberg. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix original anime film The Ribbon Hero. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Satoru Kosaki (Fireworks, The Apothecary Diaries) & Ryuichi Takada (Tekken 6). The soundtrack, which has previously been released exclusively in Japan last month, is now available to stream/download on all major music digital platforms worldwide, including Amazon. Also listen to Kosaki’s title track after the jump. The Ribbon Hero is directed by Yuki Igarashi and features the voices of Saya, Seiran Kobayashi and Koki Uchiyama. The Twin Engine production is inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga Princess Knight and follows a princess who reawakens as the Ribbon Hero when the monstrous Nergal devastates her kingdom and fights to save her new home from the same dark fate.
