Ludwig Göransson has won the Grammy Award for his score from Ryan Coogler’s Sinners in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category at today’s 68th Annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles. He was previously honored with a Grammy in the same category for his music for Coogler’s Black Panther and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and also received two awards for Childish Gambino’s This Is America.

Ludwig Göransson Scoring Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’
Composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Sinners, The Mandalorian, Creed, Turning Red, Community, Venom) is reteaming with director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) on the upcoming mythic action epic The Odyssey. The film is written and directed by Nolan and stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron. The movie is based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic of the same and follows the title character on his 10-year trek home following the Trojan War.
Ludwig Göransson to Score Jon Favreau’s ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’
Lucaasfilm has confirmed that Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, Black Panther, Creed,Tenet, Turning Red, Community, Venom) is set to score upcoming Star Wars feature The Mandalorian and Grogu. The film is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) and stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver. The movie, which continues the events of Disney+’s The Mandalorian TV series, is set after the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy, as the fledgling New Republic has enlisted the help of a legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young apprentice Grogu to protect everything the Rebellion fought for.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror movie Sinners written and directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. The film’s original score is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, The Mandalorian, Black Panther, Creed, Tenet, Turning Red, Venom). Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Heart Eyes, Tell Me Lies, Franklin, Swan Song, Before, I Carry You with Me) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The album is executive produced by the film’s composer Ludwig Göransson (who also serves as an executive producer on the movie), Coogler & Serena Göransson and features original songs and recordings by James Blake, Don Toliver, Brittany Howard, Raphael Saadiq, Rhiannon Giddens, Buddy Guy, Cedric Burnside, Eric Gales, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jerry Cantrell, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Lola Kirke, Bobby Rush, Peter Dreams, OG DAYV, Jack O’Connell, Sharde Thomas-Mallory & others. RCA Records has released the album Bando Stone & the New World, which serves as the soundtrack album for the upcoming sci-fi film of the same title. The record includes seventeen new songs by Donald Glover as Childish Gambino, including collaborations with Jorja Smith, Yeat, Amaarae, Flo Milli, Chlöe, Fousheé and Khruangbin. Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, Black Panther, Creed, Community, The Mandalorian) co-wrote and produced several tracks on the album.
