A24 Music has released the original song Through the Long and Lonely Night from the fantasy adventure The Legend of Ochi. The track written by David Longstreth (who also composed the film’s score) and performed by Dirty Projectors is now available to stream/download as a digital single on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the track after the jump. A full soundtrack album featuring Longstreth’s score, as well as the song is also available now. The Legend of Ochi is written and directed by Isaiah Saxon and stars Helena Zengel, Finn Wolfhard, Willem Dafoe and Emily Watson.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror movie Sinners written and directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Jayme Lawson and Delroy Lindo. The film’s original score is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, The Mandalorian, Black Panther, Creed, Tenet, Turning Red, Venom). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details). Sony Masterworks has also released a separate album featuring the songs from the movie performed by Rod Wave, Buddy Guy, James Blake, Brittany Howard, Don Toliver, Rhiannon Giddens & others (click here for the full album details). Also opening wide is the romantic comedy The Wedding Banquet co-written and directed by Andrew Ahn and starring Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han Gi-chan, Youn Yuh-jung and Joan Chen. Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Heart Eyes, Tell Me Lies, Franklin, Swan Song, Before, I Carry You with Me) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘The Legend of Ochi’ Soundtrack Album Details
A24 Music will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure The Legend of Ochi. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter David Longstreth (of the indie rock band Dirty Projectors) (Love Me). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 25 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Three first tracks (Prelude, The Pond & The River) are already available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump. The Legend of Ochi is written and directed by Isaiah Saxon and stars Helena Zengel, Finn Wolfhard, Emily Watson and Willem Dafoe. The movie is set in a remote village on the island of Carpathia and tells the story of a shy farm girl who is raised to fear an elusive animal species known as ochi, but when she discovers a wounded baby ochi has been left behind, she escapes on a quest to bring him home.
Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth to Make Feature Film Scoring Debut on Isaiah Saxon’s ‘The Legend of Ochi’
Singer/songwriter David Longstreth, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dirty Projectors, is set to make his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming fantasy epic The Legend of Ochi. The film will be directed by Isaiah Saxon and star Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Finn Wolfhard and Helena Zengel. The movie centers on a young girl who runs away from home and learns to communicate with an elusive animal species known as OCHI. Saxon is also producing the project for Encyclopedia Pictura, alongside Traci Carlson (Menashe) & Richard Peete (Blue Ruin, Super Dark Times) for Neighborhood Watch and Jonathan Wang (Swiss Army Man, The Death of Dick Long) for Year of the Rat.
