Trevor Morris has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama Taken. The show stars Clive Standen, Jennifer Beals, Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Gaius Charles, Michael Irby, James Landry Hébert and Jose Pablo Cantillo. The series based on the hit movie franchise starring Liam Neeson tells the origin story of younger, hungrier, former Green Beret Bryan Mills as he deals with a personal tragedy and is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative. Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element, Lucy) is executive producing the EuropaCorp TV and Universal Television production with Alexander Cary (Homeland, Lie to Me), Matthew Gross (Across the Universe, Body of Proof), Edouard de Vésinne, Thomas Anargyros and Alex Graves (Game of Thrones, The West Wing) who directed the pilot episode.

Eric Serra to Score Steven Quale’s ‘The Lake’
Eric Serra has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller The Lake. The film is directed by Steven Quale (Final Destination 5, Into the Storm) and stars Sullivan Stapleton, J. K. Simmons, Charlie Bewley, Diarmaid Murtagh, Alain Blazevic, Sylvia Hoeks, Joshua Henry, Dimitri Leonidas, Denis Lyons and Andrej Dojkic. The movie centers on a group of Navy SEALs who attempt to solve a long-forgotten mystery while they uncover an immense treasure hidden in a lake in war-torn Serbia. Luc Besson has written the screenplay with Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, The Mechanic, 16 Blocks) and is also producing the project.
Soundtrack Details for Luc Besson’s ‘Lucy’
The details of the soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s sci-fi action thriller Lucy have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Eric Serra who regularly works with the director and has scored such features as The Professional, The Fifth Element and La Femme Nikita. Also included is the original song Sister Rust performed by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, as well as tracks by The Crystal Method and Raury. The soundtrack will be released overseas in early Europe. A different soundtrack featuring Serra’s score will be released digitally on July 22, 2014 by Back Lot Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Lucy starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman follows a woman who accidentally is caught in a dark deal who turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic. The thriller will be released nationwide on July 25 by Universal Pictures.
Eric Serra to Score Luc Besson’s ‘Lucy’
Eric Serra is reuniting with director Luc Besson on the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Lucy. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Choi Min-sik, Analeigh Tipton and Amr Waked. The film follows a female drug mule who gains superhuman powers after the drug she is carrying enters her body. Besson has also written the screenplay and is also producing the EuropaCorp, TF1 Film and Canal Plus production with Christophe Lambert (It Boy). Serra has scored most of Besson’s directorial efforts including Leon: The Professional, The Big Blue, La Femme Nikita, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and The Fifth Element.
‘The Family’ Soundtrack Details
EuropaCorp will release a soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s crime comedy The Family. The album features the film’s original music composed by Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine. Also featured are the songs from the film, including New York, I Love You but You’re Bringing Me Down by LCD Soundsystem, Me and My Baby by Don Cavalli and Doce Doce by Fred Bongusto. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 13, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Evgueni & Sacha Galperine Scoring Luc Besson’s ‘Malavita’
Evgueni and Sacha Galperine are the composers of the upcoming crime comedy Malavita. The film is directed by Luc Besson and stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D’Leo. The movie follows a retired mafia boss who moves to a small town in France’s Normandy with his wife and daughter as part of the witness protection program. Besson has also written the screenplay based on Tonino Benacquista’s novel Badfellas and is producting the film with his wife Virginie Besson-Silla (The Lady, Revolver) for EuropaCorp, along with Ryan Kavanaugh & Tucker Tooley (The Fighter, Limitless) for Relativity Media. Martin Scorsese has recently joined the project as an executive producer.
Richard Horowitz Scoring ‘Intersection’
Richard Horowitz is scoring the upcoming thriller Intersection. The film is written and directed by David Marconi (screenwriter of Enemy of the State) and stars Frank Grillo (The Grey, Warrior) as a newlywed husband whose wife plots his murder on their honeymoon in Morocco. Roschdy Zem (Days Of Glory) Marie-Josée Croze (The Diving Bell And The Butterfly), Charley Bewley (Twilight) and Jaimie Alexander (Thor) are also starring in the film. Luc Besson and Gareth Upton (Colombiana) are producing the film for EuropaCorp (Taken, Transporter series). Horowitz is best known for co-scoring Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday and Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1990 drama The Sheltering Sky, for which he won the Golden Globe with composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Intersection and is set to be released in France on November 28, 2012 and a release in the US is expected in 2013.
‘The Lady’ Soundtrack Details
SME Strategic Marketing Group will be releasing the official soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s drama The Lady. The album includes the original score by the director’s regular musical collaborator Eric Serra, as well as the song Soldier of Love by Sade. The soundtrack is scheduled to come out digitally on November 28, 2011 in Europe. A physical release is set to be released on December 6 overseas and is available as an import on Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release of the soundtrack, but check back on this site for updates. The Lady stars Michelle Yeoh as the political activist Aung San Suu Kyi who spent almost 15 years under house arrest in Burma until November of last year and David Thewlis as her husband Michael Aris.
Alexandre Azaria to Score ‘Lockout’
Alexandre Azaria has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi adventure Lockout. The movie is directed by James Mather & Stephen St. Leger and stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare and Tom Hollander. The film centers on a falsely convicted ex-government agent whose only chance of freedom is to accept a mission to rescue the president’s daughter from rioting prisoners at an outer space maximum security prison. Luc Besson co-wrote the script with the directors and also serves as an executive producer on the EuropaCorp production. Azaria has previously scored the production company’s two The Transporter sequels, which were also produced by Besson. FilmDistrict has picked up domestic rights for Lockout and is planning a theatrical release on April 13, 2012.
Nathaniel Mechaly to Score ‘The Transporter’ TV series
Nathaniel Mechaly has signed on to score the upcoming TV adaptation of Luc Besson’s action franchise The Transporter. The show centers on professional transporter Frank Martin, who opertates in a seedy underworld of dangerous criminals and desperate players. Chris Vance (Prison Break stars in the title role that was played by Jason Statham in the film series. Andrea Osvart, Francois Berleand (Tell No One), who will reprise his role as Inspector Tarconi from the Transporter features, Delphine Chaneac (Splice) and Rachel Skarsten (Birds of Prey) are co-starring. Stephen Williams (Lost) directed the pilot and Luc Besson is among the executive producers on the show. The Transporter is a co-production of HBO, HBO Canada, France’s M6 and Germany’s RTL Television.
