Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things) have composed the music for the new ITV mini-series Butterfly. The show is created by Tony Marchant (Holding On, The Mark of Cain) and stars Anna Friel, Emmett J. Scanlan, Alison Steadman, Sean McGinley and Callum Booth-Ford. The 3-parter focuses on the complex relationship between two separated parents and their division in opinion over how to support their youngest child. Marchant is also executive producing the project with Nicola Shindler (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax), Caroline Hollick and Adam Kemp (Our Zoo).

Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein to Score NatGeo’s ‘Valley of the Boom’
Variety is reporting that Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are composing the score for the upcoming NatGeo original series Valley of the Boom. The show is created by Matthew Carnahan (House of Lies, Dirt) and stars Bradley Whitford, Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, John Karna, Dakota Shapiro and Oliver Cooper. The drama, which is being described as hybrid scripted/docu-series, chronicles the 1990s tech boom and bust cycle in Silicon Valley. Carnahan is also executive producing the STXtv production with Arianna Huffington, Jason Goldberg and David Walpert.
‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records and Invada Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Stranger Things. The album features the original music from the show’s second season composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein who received an Emmy Award for their main titles theme last month. The label has previously released two soundtrack albums featuring the composers’ music from he first season. Stranger Things created by the Duffer brothers and starring Winona Ryder, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, Matthew Modine, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dye and Millie Bobby Brown will return for its second season on October 27 on Netflix.

won their first Emmy Award for their main titles theme music from the Netflix original series Stranger Things at tonight’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Jeff Russo received his first Emmy Award for his score from the third season of the FX original series Fargo in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special category. He was previously nominated twice for his work on the show’s first two seasons. Jeff Beal was honored with his fifth Primetime Emmy Award for his score for Netflix’s House of Cards in the Music Composition for a Series category.

Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein will be performing their score from the Netflix hit series Stranger Things at a live concert performance on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The Vol. 2 album features more of the show’s original music composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the Austin-based synth band S U R V I V E.
