Crashington Music has released a new soundtrack album for the biographical musical drama Better Man. The album features the film’s original score composed by Batu Sener (The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Ice Age: Scrat Tales, Atatürk). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s score suite after the jump. Columbia Records has previously released an album featuring the songs from the movie last December. Better Man is directed by Michael Gracey and stars Williams himself, Jonno Davies, Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Tom Budge, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield and Anthony Hayes. The movie follows British pop superstar Robbie Williams’ journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of boyband Take That, through to his achievements as a record-braking solo artist.

Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the gothic horror movie Nosferatu written and directed by Robert Eggers and starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe. The film’s original music is composed by Robin Carolan (The Nortman). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released last month by Back Lot Music (digital version) and Sacred Bones Records (physical versions). Also opening nationwide is the biographical drama A Complete Unknown directed by James Mangold and starring Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning, Boyd Holbrook, Norbert Leo Butz, Dan Fogler and Scoot McNairy. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Nick Baxter serves as the project’s executive music producer. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the Bob Dylan songs from the movie performed by Chalamet and other tracks performed by the movie’s cast last Friday. Robbie Williams’ Original Song ‘Forbidden Road’ from ‘Bettter Man’ Disqualified from Oscar Consideration
The Academy has notified members of the music branch that the Oscar-shortlisted original song Forbidden Road from the biographical musical drama Better Man has been disqualified. The track co-written (with Freddy Wexler & Sacha Skarbek and produced by Dan Romer & Wexler) and performed by Robbie Williams was found to feature “material from an existing song that was not written for this film.” The existing title has been identified as the Jim Croce song I Got A Name written by Academy governor Charles Fox & Norman Gimbel for the 1973 feature The Last American Hero. The album features the songs from the film by Robbie Williams, including such hits as Angels, She’s the One & Let Me Entertain You (re-recorded and newly arranged for the movie), his cover of My Way & more. Also included is Williams’ original song Forbidden Road (co-written with Freddy Wexler & Sacha Skarbek and produced by Dan Romer & Wexler), which is already available to stream/download now. Batu Sener (The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, Ice Age: Scrat Tales, Atatürk) is scoring the upcoming biographical movie musical Better Man. The film is directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) and stars British singer/songwriter Robbie Williams as himself, Jonno Davies as his younger self, as well as Steve Pemberton, Alison Steadman, Anthony Hayes, Damon Herriman and Kate Mulvany. The movie chronicles the former Take That member’s ascent, exploring the experiences that made him who he is, and the demons he battled both on and off the stage as he became a huge star.
