Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the British sci-fi documentary 2073. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Amy, Nine Days, Flight Risk, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) . The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 4 and will be available to stream/download on alll major digital music services, including Amazon. Weekly Film Music Roundup (December 27, 2024)
Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the gothic horror movie Nosferatu written and directed by Robert Eggers and starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe. The film’s original music is composed by Robin Carolan (The Nortman). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released last month by Back Lot Music (digital version) and Sacred Bones Records (physical versions). Also opening nationwide is the biographical drama A Complete Unknown directed by James Mangold and starring Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning, Boyd Holbrook, Norbert Leo Butz, Dan Fogler and Scoot McNairy. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Nick Baxter serves as the project’s executive music producer. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the Bob Dylan songs from the movie performed by Chalamet and other tracks performed by the movie’s cast last Friday. Antonio Pinto to Score Asif Kapadia’s ‘2073’
Neon announced today that composer Antonio Pinto (City of God, Nine Days, McFarland, USA, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Lord of War) is set to reteam with director Asif Kapadia on the upcoming documentary thriller 2073. The film is inspired by Chris Marker’s 1962 experimental sci-fi movie La Jetée and centers on the challenges humanity will face in a dystopian future 50 years from now. Kapadia (The Warrior, The Return) is also producing the Double Agent, Neon and Film4 production with George Chignell (Citizen K).
