Milan Records has announced first-ever release of the original score for Spike Jonze’s 2013 sci-fi romantic drama Her starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde and Scarlett Johansson. The album features the film’s original score composed by Arcade Fire and their longtime collaborator Owen Pallett (The Box, Spaceship Earth) who received an Academy Award nomination for their music in 2014. Arcade Fire’s ‘Baby Mine’ Cover from ‘Dumbo’ Released
Walt Disney Records has released Arcade Fire‘s cover of the song Baby Mine from Tim Burton’s live-action film adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo. The track was originally written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington for the studio’s 1941 animated movie and was newly recorded for the end credits sequence of the remake. The song is being released as a digital single today and is now available to download on Amazon. Listen to the full track after the jump. A full soundtrack album for the movie, which also features Danny Elfman’s score, will be released digitally on March 29 and physically the following week. The CD version will be available to pre-order here within the next few days.
Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’ to Feature End Credits Song by Arcade Fire
Walt Disney Pictures has announced that Arcade Fire has recorded a new version of the Academy Award-nominated song Baby Mine for Disney’s upcoming Dumbo live-action movie. The song was originally written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington (lyrics) for the 1941 animated classic. The new version will be featured during the movie’s end credits and will be included on the official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score by Danny Elfman, which is set to be released digitally on March 29 and physically on April 5 by Walt Disney Records.

Two new movies are opening wide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the comedy sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues directed by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, James Marsden and Kristen Wiig. The film’s original score is composed by Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau (Casa De Mi Padre, Bachelorette). The duo has also composed the film’s original songs, including Doby (co-written with Ferrell and McKay), which is up for an Academy Award nomination in the Best Song category (click here to listen to the track). Also opening wide is the 3D family action adventure Walking With Dinosaurs directed by Neil Nightingale & Barry Cook and which follows two brothers looking to follow in their father’s footsteps, which leads them to a showdown with dinosaurs in the Arctic. Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is in the works and expected to be released in 2014. Spike Jonze’s ‘Her’ to Feature Music by Arcade Fire
The Grammy-winning indie rock band Arcade Fire is writing the music for Spike Jonze’s upcoming sci-fi romance Her. The film written and directed by Jonze stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pratt and Scarlett Johansson. The movie is set in future Los Angeles and follows a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people and falls in love with a new, advanced operating system designed to grant the user’s every command. Jonze is also producing the Annapurna Pictures production with Vincent Landay and Megan Ellison (Zero Dark Thirty, The Master). The director’s previous major features Where the Wild Things Are, Adaptation and Being John Malkovich were scored by Carter Burwell. Jonze has previously collaborated with Arcade Fire on the short film Scenes from the Suburbs. The band also re-recorded the hit song Wake Up for the Where the Wild Things Are trailer.
