Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 animated feature The Secret of NIMH directed by Don Bluth and starring Elizabeth Hartman, Dom DeLuise, Derek Jacobi, Hermione Baddeley, Peter Strauss and John Carradine. The album features the expanded and newly remastered score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Basic Instinct, Gremlins, Chinatown), including around eight minutes o of previously unreleased music. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Addams Family, Onward, Alias Grace, Tyrant, The Boondock Saints, Silent Hill, Camelot, Julia, Storks). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be announced soon. Two Rivers Media has released has released a soundtrack album for the documentary The Last Musician of Auschwitz. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jessica Dannheisser (Daddy Issues, Whitstable Pearl, Knuckle, Silverpoint, A Kind of Spark), as well as pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Robert Schumann, among others, arranged by Dannheisser. Also included is musicologist Petra Gelbart’s performance of There Is a Large Building in Auschwitz, as well as the rendition of the Jewish Deathsong (a reworking of a traditional Yiddish folk song, devised by Berlin choirmaster Martin Rosebury D’Arguto) that ends the film.
