Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action comedy Bad Boys: Ride or Die directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah and starring Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Alexander Ludwig, Eric Dane, Vanessa Hudgens, Ioan Gruffudd and Joe Pantoliano. The film’s original score is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Bad Boys for Life, His Dark Materials, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam, The Wheel of Time, The LEGO Batman Movie). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music today and Epic Records has released a separate album featuring the songs from the movie by Black Eyed Peas, El Alfa, Becky G, J.I.D, 21 Lil Harold, ScarLip & others. Sony Classical has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the Academy Award-winning 1982 epic Gandhi directed by Richard Attenborough and starring Ben Kingsley, Candice Bergen, Edward Fox, John Gielgud, John Mills, Trevor Howard and Martin Sheen. Netflix announced today that Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper (Shadow in the Cloud, The Legend of Baron To’a, Housebound) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature Plankton: The Movie. The film is directed by Dave Needham (The Loud House Movie) and features the voices of Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Tom Kenny, Carolyn Lawrence, Bill Fagerbakke, Clancy Brown and Rodger Bumpass. Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords, The Muppets), Linda Perry (of 4 Non Blondes) and Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie) & Bob Mothersbaugh (Rugrats, 200 Cigarettes) are writing original songs for the movie, which is based on the series SpongeBob SquarePants characters created by Stephen Hillenburg and follows Plankton whose world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted.
