Earlier this month, Aska Matsumiya (Skate Kitchen, Bruised, I’m Your Woman, Betty, Selah and the Spades) has recorded her score for the upcoming documentary Phoenix Rising. The film is directed by Amy Berg (Deliver Us from Evil, West of Memphis, The Case Against Adnan Syed) and follows actress and activist Evan Rachel Wood and the coalition she builds at The Phoenix Act, tracking the political and community focus the actor has established in the aftermath of her experience and trauma as a domestic violence survivor. Paramount Music will release the official soundtrack album for the HBO Max limited series Station Eleven. The album features the show’s original music composed by Dan Romer (Luca, Maniac, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Superman & Lois, Atypical, Wendy). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 13 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Station Eleven is created by Patrick Somerville based on Emily St. John Mand’s novel of the same name and stars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, Daniel Zovatto, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Philippine Velge, Nabhaan Rizwan and Lori Petty, as well as Gael Garcìa Bernal and Danielle Deadwyler. The 10-part post-apocalyptic drama tells the stories of a group of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost. The British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) today revealed the longlists for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2022. This longlisting round was introduced last year resulting in three rounds of voting. Round One voting, which took place from December 10 to January 4 produced the longlists in all categories announced today.Every category in this round was voted on by a craft chapter, opt-in chapter or jury, with the exception of Best Film which was voted for by all film voting members.
