The details of the soundtrack album for the supernatural horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter have been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 11 by Sony Classical and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The composer’s main theme is already available to stream/download now. ‘Blood Simple’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1984 crime drama/thriller Blood Simple written and directed by Joel & Ethan Coen and starring John Getz, Frances McDormand, Dan Hedaya and M. Emmet Walsh. The Deluxe Edition soundtrack features the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (The Banshees of Inisherin, Carol, Fargo, Twilight, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, True Grit), including around fifteen minutes of previously unreleased music. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2023 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories of Film Composer of the Year, Television Composer of the Year and Best Original Song. The winners will be announced at the 23rd World Soundtrack Awards ceremony, which will take place on October 21, 2023 at the Capitole Ghent as the closing night of the Film Fest Gent. Nicola Piovani and Laurence Rosenthal have previously been announced to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards and. The rest of the nominations will be revealed in September. Carl Davis has passed away at age 86. The composer has scored numerous films and TV shows over a six decade-spanning career. Among his best known scoring credits are Karel Reisz’s 1981 feature The French Lieutenant’s Woman (for which he received BAFTA’s Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music), BBC’s 1995 Pride and Prejudice mini-series starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle, Michael Caton-Jones’ 1989 feature Scandal, the 1973 documentary series World at War and John Irvin’s 1984 drama Champions and 1994 comedy Widow’s Peak.
