Arts Music has released a new soundtrack album for the Netflix animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The Volume 3 album features selections of the score from the show’s third season composed by Michael Kramer (Ninjago, The Ghost and Molly McGee, LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales & Summer Vacation). Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. The label has previously released an album featuring Kramer’s score and Ali Dee’s theme song from Season 1 in 2021 and a second album featuring Kramer’s music from Season 2 last year. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is developed by Robert David based on the 1980s cartoon series and features the voices of Yuri Lowenthal, Kimberly Brooks, Trevor Devall, Antony Del Rio, Ben Diskin, David Kaye, Judy Alice Lee, Grey Griffin, Roger Craig Smith, Tom Kenny and Fred Tatasciore. Songwriter/record producer Kool Kojak has made his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming comedy First Time Female Director. The film is written and directed by Chelsea Peretti and stars Peretti herself, Amy Poehler, Kate Berlant, Megan Stalter, Benito Skinner, Megan Mullally, Blake Anderson, Natasha Leggero, Jak Knight, Xosha Roquemore, Andy Richter, Max Greenfield, Tim Heidecker and Brad Hall. Este Haim (of HAIM) (Maid, Cha Cha Real Smooth) serves as the music consultant of the movie, which follows a playwright working for a small theater in Glendale who is thrust into the leadership role and quickly discovers that being a director may be a lot more challenging than she originally thought. Republic Records has released a digital single featuring music from the second episode of the HBO original series The Idol. The 3-track single includes the new song Family co-written (with Mike Dean) and performed by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye & Suzanna Son, the score track Devil’s Paradise written by Dean & series co-creator Sam Levinson and the previously released song Double Fantasy by The Weeknd feat. Anna Drubich (Barbarian, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Fear Street Part 3: 1666) & Jongnic Bontemps (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, 4400, My Name Is Pauli Murray, Redfall) have teamed up to score the upcoming documentary The Space Race. The film is directed by Diego Hurtado de Mendoza (The Redeem Team) & Lisa Cortés (Little Richard: I Am Everything, All In: The Fight for Democracy) and explores the experiences of the first Black astronauts. The movie features interviews with Ed Dwight, Charles Bolden, Guion Bluford & Victor Glover and spotlights the oft-omitted racial injustice narratives and present-day realities of these pioneers. The album features selections of the composer’s original score from the show and is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples.
