Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer have teamed up to score the upcoming German drama The Light (Das Licht). The film is written and directed by Tykwer and stars Lars Eidinger, Nicolette Krebitz, Tala Al-Deen, Elke Biesendorfer, Julius Gause and Elyas Eldridge. Madison Gate Records has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 2019 Spanish comedy Under the Same Roof (Bajo el mismo techo) co-written and directed by Juana Macías and starring Jordi Sánchez, Silvia Abril, Daniel Guzmán, Álvaro Cervantes, Malena Alterio, Cristina Castaño and Ana Morgade. The album features the film’s original music composed by Pablo Trujillo (Who Would You Take to a Deserted Island?, Unbridled). Premiering on Wednesday, December 25, is the BET+ original movie Blended Christmas written and directed by Tamala Baldwin and starring Jennifer Freeman, Anthony Dalton, Victoria Rowell, Dreamdoll, Lamar Cheston and Lulu Lopez. The film’s original music is composed by Erick Schroder (The Ultimate Playlist of Noise, Under the Stadium Lights, No Man’s Land, Skeletons in the Closet, Angry Neighbors) . The comedy, which follows a guardian angel who helps a newlywed couple navigate their chaotic honeymoon when the groom’s ex-wife and kids are forced to move in during the holidays, will be available to stream exclusively on BET+.

Netflix Music has released an EP featuring four songs from the sixth season of the Netflix original series Virgin River. Mel & Jack’s Wedding Mixtape includes the original song This Heart of Mine written and performed by The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz (previously released as a digital single), a cover of the track by Callum Kerr, a cover of Boffalongo’s Dancing in the Moonlight by The Promised, as well as another song (Me and You) performed by The Promised. Lebo M has provided additional music and performances and Mark Mancina has produced the songs with Miranda. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and another album featuring the score, as well as a deluxe edition featuring both score and songs over the last week. Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla vs. Kong, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. ‘Wicked’ Sing-Along Soundtrack Album Released

Republic Records & Verve Label Group have released a third soundtrack album for the first part of the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked. The “Sing-Along” album features instrumental versions of all eleven songs from the movie written (originally for the stage show) by Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pippin, Pocahontas). Robbie Williams’ Original Song ‘Forbidden Road’ from ‘Bettter Man’ Disqualified from Oscar Consideration

The Academy has notified members of the music branch that the Oscar-shortlisted original song Forbidden Road from the biographical musical drama Better Man has been disqualified. The track co-written (with Freddy Wexler & Sacha Skarbek and produced by Dan Romer & Wexler) and performed by Robbie Williams was found to feature “material from an existing song that was not written for this film.” The existing title has been identified as the Jim Croce song I Got A Name written by Academy governor Charles Fox & Norman Gimbel for the 1973 feature The Last American Hero. The film is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) and stars Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson, Andrew Dice Clay, Eva Longoria, Jack Kesy, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and Marshawn Lynch. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Homestead. The album features the film’s original score composed by Benjamin Backus (A Week Away, Valiant One).
