Atlantic Records will be releasing the official soundtrack album for the highly anticipated film adaptation of The Hunger Games. A soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film is set for a release on March 20, 2012. The album is now available for pre-order on Amazon. T Bone Burnett is producing the soundtrack. It has already been reported that Taylor Swift’s song Safe & Sound will be included on the album. The full track list will be published within the next few weeks. No word yet on a separate album featuring composer James Newton Howard’s original score. Lakeshore Records will be releasing the soundtrack album for the comedy drama Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. The album includes the original score from the movie composed by Academy Award-winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice). Orbital to Score ‘Pusher’ Remake

NME.com is reporting that the British electronic dance music duo Orbital is scoring the upcoming crime thriller Pusher. The movie is an English-language remake of the Danish 1996 film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) who is involved as an executive producer in the new version directed by Luis Prieto. Pusher stars Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), Agyness Dean, Bronson Webb and Paul Kaye. Rupert Preston (Monsters, Bronson), Chris Simon and Felix Vossen are producing the Embargo Films and Vertigo Films production. Orbital (aka Paul and Phil Hartnoll) have previously been involved in a number of films, most notably in the 1997 sci-fi horror film Event Horizon, on which they collaborated with composer Michael Kamen. No release date has been announced yet for Pusher.

Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the upcoming thriller Gone. The album includes the original score by composer David Buckley (The Town, Forbidden Kingdom). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 21, 2012 and physically on March 20. The CD version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Smash’ Premieres Tonight on NBC

The musical drama Smash is premiering tonight on NBC. The show features original songs written by Academy Award-nominated composer Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut) and Scott Wittman who are also also executive producing the show. Shaiman is also writing the original score. Columbia Records has already released the first two songs from the series’ pilot, including Let Me Be Your Star (performed by Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty) and The National Pastime. Both songs are available to download on iTunes. A third song from the pilot, a cover version of Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful (performed by Katherine McPhee) will be released on February 13. ‘Silent Hill: Downpour’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records has announced a soundtrack release for the video game Silent Hill: Downpour. The album includes the original score from the game composed by Daniel Licht who is best known for scoring all episodes of the Showtime hit series Dexter. The soundtrack also includes the game’s theme Silent Hill by Jonathan Davis, front-man of the nu metal band Korn. The album will be released on March 13, 2012 and is now available on Amazon. Silent Hill: Downpour is the eight installment in Silent Hill series and follows Murphy Pendleton, a prisoner who is stranded in the town of Silent Hill after the prison transport vehicle he is being transported with careens off a road. Lakeshore Records has announced a second soundtrack release for last year’s drama The Rum Diary. The new album includes more music from the film’s composer Christopher Young, as well as additional tracks by artists including Dick Dale, Patti Smith, Frankie Miller, Hound Dog Taylor and The Tornados. The soundtrack will be released on February 28, 2012 digitally and will also be receiving a physical release in March. The original soundtrack album was released last October as announced here. The Rum Diary directed by Bruce Robinson and starring Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkins and Amaury Nolasco was released in theaters last fall and is set for a Blu-Ray and DVD release on February 14, 2012 (click here to pre-order the Blu-Ray). Sony Classical has revealed the details of the soundtrack release for the upcoming comedy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The album includes the original score by Academy Award-nominated composer Thomas Newman. The soundtrack is set for a release in the UK on February 27, 2012. Lakeshore Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the animated TV series Transformers Prime. The album includes the original music from the first season of the show composed by Brian Tyler (The Expendables, Eagle Eye). The soundtrack is currently scheduled for a release on March 20, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out below. Transformers Prime executive produced by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers‘ feature films) and Jeff Kline chronicles the triumphant return of the Autobots.
