Mandarin Motion Pictures Production has released a soundtrack album for the Hong Kong action drama The Prosecutor. The album features the film’s original music written by Choi Chul-ho and other composers. The Prosecutor is directed by Donnie Yen and stars Yen himself, Julian Cheung, Francis Ng, Kent Cheng, Adam Pak, Kang Yu and Locker Lam. The movie is inspired by an actual legal case in Hong Kong involving a man who falsely pleads guilty to drug trafficking after being framed and follows a veteran policeman-turned-prosecutor handling the case who is convinced of the man’s innocence and pursues his own investigation. Love Theme Music has released a soundtrack album for the French sci-fi thriller Planet B (Planète B). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent, The Beast, Nocturama, Zombi Child, On War). Planet B is written and directed by Aude Léa Rapi and stars Adèle Exarchopoulos, Souheila Yacoub, India Hair, Eliane Umuhire and Paul Beaurepaire. PBS announced this week that Johnny Gandelsman, Rhiannon Giddens, Jennifer Kreisberg, David Cieri, Yo-Yo Ma and Richard Evans are contributing music to the upcoming documentary series The American Revolution. The show directed and produced by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Vietnam War, The Statue of Liberty), Sarah Botstein (The U.S. and the Holocaust) & David Schmidt, written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward and examines how America’s creation turned the world upside-down. The 6-parter is narrated by Peter Coyote and includes the first-person voices of nearly 200 individual historic figures, read by a cast of actors, including Kenneth Branagh, Josh Brolin, Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Jeff Daniels, Alden Ehrenreich, Craig Ferguson, Morgan Freeman, Paul Giamatti, Domhnall Gleeson, Tom Hanks, Ethan Hawke, Maya Hawke, Lucas Hedges, Josh Hutcherson, Samuel L.
