Mandarin Motion Pictures Production has released a soundtrack album for the Hong Kong action drama The Prosecutor. The album features the film’s original music written by Choi Chul-ho and other composers. The Prosecutor is directed by Donnie Yen and stars Yen himself, Julian Cheung, Francis Ng, Kent Cheng, Adam Pak, Kang Yu and Locker Lam. The movie is inspired by an actual legal case in Hong Kong involving a man who falsely pleads guilty to drug trafficking after being framed and follows a veteran policeman-turned-prosecutor handling the case who is convinced of the man’s innocence and pursues his own investigation. Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, January 15, is the Spanish limited series Cristóbal Balenciaga created by Lourdes Iglesias, Aitor Arregi, Jon Garaño & Jose Mari Goenag and starring Alberto San Juan, Belén Cuesta, Josean Bengoetxea, Cecilia Solaguren, Adam Quintero, Gemma Whelan, Gabrielle Lazure, Thomas Coumans, Anouk Grinberg, Patrice Thibaud, Nine d’Urso and Anna-Victoire Olivier. The show’s original music is composed by Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Volver, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, The Skin I Live In, The Room Next Door). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last January when the series premiered overseas on Disney+. Also premiering on Wednesday is the Italian Netflix original series Public Disorder (ACAB) created by Filippo Gravino based on Carlo Bonini’s novel ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards and starring Marco Giallini, Adriano Giannini, Valentina Bellè, Pierluigi Gigante, Fabrizio Nardi, Donatella Finocchiaro, Chiara Muscato, Daniele Natali, Federico Mainardi and Flavia Leone. Mokadelic (Citadel: Diana, Gomorrah, Django, Romulus, The Immortal) have composed the show’s original music. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer collective’s score this past Friday. Love Theme Music has released a soundtrack album for the French sci-fi thriller Planet B (Planète B). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent, The Beast, Nocturama, Zombi Child, On War). Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller Den of Thieves 2: Pantera written and directed by Christian Gudegast and starring Gerard Butler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Evin Ahmad, Swen Temmel, Meadow Williams and Salvatore Esposito. The film’s original music is composed by Kevin Matley (The Family Plan, Concrete Cowboy, Arthur the King, Path of the Panther, Daniel). The show directed and produced by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Vietnam War, The Statue of Liberty), Sarah Botstein (The U.S. and the Holocaust) & David Schmidt, written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward and examines how America’s creation turned the world upside-down.
