Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the Indian Netflix original series Kaala Paani. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Rachita Arora (The Brawler, Newton, Gurgaon). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Kaala Paani is directed by Sameer Saxena & Amit Golani and stars Ashutosh Gowariker, Mona Singh, Sukant Goel, Vikas Kumar, Amey Wagh and Arushi Sharma. The survival drama takes place after a mysterious illness descends upon the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and follows a group of characters as their fight for survival collides with a race to find a cure. Songwriter/music producer and composer James Poyser (of The Roots) has recently scored the upcoming documentary Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story. The film is directed by Gelila Bekele & Armani Ortiz and centers on the writer, actor, filmmaker, studio head and media titan. The movie follows Perry as he becomes a father and media mogul with a mission to pave his own road to the top. Bekele is also producing the project with Jasmine K. The film is written and directed by Chris Holt (The Hillside Strangler, Elizabeth I) and explores the first – and only – time “demonic possession” has officially been used as a defense in a US murder trial. Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2003 German historical drama Rosenstrasse co-written and directed by Margarethe von Trotta and starring Maria Schrader, Katja Riemann and Martin Wuttke. The album features the film’s original music composed, orchestrated and produced by Loek Dikker (The Babysitter, The Fourth Man, Body Parts, Pascali’s Island).
