joeDavid Wingo and Jeff McIlwain are reuniting with director David Gordon Green on his latest feature Joe. The Southern drama stars Nicolas Cage and Tye Sheridan and follows an ex-con who becomes the unlikeliest of role models to a 15-year-old child of a homeless family ruled by a drunk father. Gary Hawkins wrote the screenplay based on the novel of the same title by Larry Brown. Lisa Muskat (Compliance), Gordon Green and Christopher Woodrow (The Immigrant) are producing the project with Derrick Tseng (Palindromes). Wingo and McIlwain previously shared scoring duties on Gordon Green’s Snow Angels and The Sitter, while Wingo also scored the director’s George Washington and All the Real Girls. dragonMovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for Peter Chan’s martial arts action adventure Dragon (Wu Xia). The album features the film’s original music composed by Chan Kwong Wing and Peter Kam Pui Tat who previously collaborated with the director on the 2007 epic The Warlords starring Jet Li. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 13, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Dragon is directed by Peter Ho-Sun Chan and stars Donnie Yen and Takeshi Kaneshiro. The movie follows a village craftsman whose quiet life is irrevocably shattered by the arrival of two notorious gangsters in the local general store. The show is a new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise and features such characters as Alfred, Katana, Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. The series’ voice talent includes Anthony Ruivivar, J. B. Blanc, Lance Reddick, Sumalee Montano, Kurtwood Smith, Udo Kier and Cree Summer. Wiedmann has previously scored Green Lantern: The Animated Series for Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment. Beware the Batman is set to premiere later this year on Cartoon Network. The album features the film’s original score composed by Michael Giacchino. The soundtrack will be released physically on May 28, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The film is written and directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Hancock) and stars Mark Wahlberg, Eric Bana, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch and Taylor Kitsch. The movie is based on the book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell and tells the true story of a group of Navy SEAL members who fought to stay alive after being ambushed in Afghanistan in 2005 by Taliban forces during a covert mission in the Hindu Kush mountain region. Berg and Wahlberg are producing the project with Sarah Aubrey (Bad Santa, Lars and the Real Girl), Randall Emmett (16 Blocks, Broken City), Steven Levinson (Contraband), Norton Herrick (The Devil’s Double) Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) and Barry Spikings (The Deer Hunter). The film’s original music is written by late composer Marvin Hamlisch. Also featured on the album are several tracks by pianist Liberace, played in the film by Michael Douglas. The film is directed by Steve McQueen amd stars Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt, Quvenzhané Wallis, Paul Dano, Scott McNairy, Sarah Paulson, Alfre Woodard, Paul Giamatti and Lupita Nyong’o. The movie is based on the autobiography Of the same title by Solomon Northup and centers on a free man who was kidnapped in 1841 and sold into slavery on a Louisiana cotton plantation. McQueen co-wrote the script with John Ridley (Red Tails). Dede Gardner (The Tree of Life, Eat Pray Love) is producing the New Regency Producctions and Plan B Entertainment production with Jeremy Kleiner (Killing Them Softly) and Brad Pitt. The film is directed by Kasi Lemmons and stars Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese Gibson, Jacob Latimore, Nas, Mary J. Blige and Luke James. The movie is based on the gospel musical by Langston Hughes that was first performed on Broadway in 1961 and follows a street-wise teen from Baltimore who is sent to New York City by his single mother to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged relatives. Lemmons has adapted the material for the screen and Bill Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Kite Runner) is producing the project with Celine Rattray (The Kids Are All Right, Bernie), Galt Niederhoffer (The Romantics, Robot & Frank) and Daniela Taplin Lundberg (The Kids Are All Right).
