‘The Song’ Soundtrack Announced

the-songCapitol Christian Music Group will release a soundtrack album for the music drama The Song. The album features the music from and inspired by the film, including 11 original songs and 3 new recordings from the motion picture. Artists featured on the release include Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, The Byrds’ Roger McGuinn and NEEDTOBREATHE. The soundtrack will be released on September 16, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Song is written and directed by Richard Ramsey and stars Alan Powell of the group Anthem Lights, Caitlin Nicol-Thomas and Ali Faulkner. The movie is a modern-day adaptation of the life and writings of Solomon, as found in the Song of Solomon Ecclesiastes, and follows an aspiring singer-songwriter whose life and marriage suffer when the song he writes for his wife propels him to stardom. imageKeefus Ciancia has composed the music for the horror thriller As Above, So Below. The film is co-written and directed by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine) and stars Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman, Edwin Hodge, Francois Civil, Marion Lambert, Ali Marhyar, Cosme Castro and Hamidreza Javdan. The movie follows a team of explorers that ventures into the catacombs that lie beneath the streets of Paris and uncovers a dark secret. Thomas Tull (Godzilla, Pacific Rim, 42) is producing the Legendary Picturs production with Jon Jashni (Shopgirl), Drew Dowdle (Quarantine) and Patrick Aiello (The Double). magic-in-the-moonlightMadison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for Woody Allen’s romantic comedy Magic in the Moonlight. The album features the jazz tracks from the film by artists including Bix Beiderbecke, Conal Fowkes, Leo Reisman & His Orchestra, Nat Shilkret, Ute Lemper, Al Bowlly, California Ramblers, Sidney DeParis and more. The soundtrack is now available digitally on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Magic in the Moonlight written and directed by Allen stars Colin Firth, Emma Stone, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamish Linklater, Eileen Atkins, Simon McBurney and Jacki Weaver. a-to-zCraig Wedren has been hired to score the new NBC comedy A to Z. The show is created by Ben Queen (DriveCars 2) and stars Ben Feldman, Cristin Milioti, Henry Zebrowski, Lenora Crichlow, Christina Kirk and Hong Chau. Katey Sagal is narrating the series, which follows the relationship between a male employee at an internet dating site and a female no-nonsense lawyer, from meeting to breakup. Queen is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Le Train Train production with Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), Will McCormack (Celeste & Jesse Forever), Bill Callahan (Psych) and Michael Patrick Jann (Reno 911!). A to Z is set to premiere on October 2, 2014 and will air every Thursday night on NBC. ‘Love Is Strange’ Soundtrack Released

love-is-strangeMadison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Love Is Strange. The album features the classical pieces featured in the film composed by Frédéric Chopin, Arnold Schoenberg and Henryk Wieniawski. Also included is Nina Simone’s song That’s Him Over There. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Love Is Strange is directed by Ira Sachs and stars John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei, Darren Burrows, Charlie Tahan and Cheyenne Jackson. The movie follows a longtime couple who lose their New York home shortly after getting married. The drama premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters this Friday, August 22 by Sony Pictures Classics. ‘Cantinflas’ Soundtrack Announced

cantinflasMovic Records will release a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Cantinflas. The album features three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Roque Banos (Evil Dead, Oldboy, The Machinist, Sexy Beast). Also included are the songs from the film by artists including Denise Gutiérrez, Aleks Syntek, Mauricio Sánchez, Enrique Bunbury & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Cantinflas is directed by Sebastian del Amo and stars Oscar Jaenada, Michael Imperioli, Ilse Salas, Luis Gerardo Mendez, Gabriela de la Garza, Adal Ramones and Ana Layevska. frederik-wiedmannFrederik Wiedmann is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Dying of the Light. The film is written and directed by Paul Schrader and stars Nicolas Cage, Anton Yelchin and Irene Jacob. The movie follows a former CIA agent embarking on a global manhunt for his long-standing nemesis, while simultaneously battling an aggressive form of Alzheimer’s Disease. Todd Williams, Scott Clayton and Gary Hirsch are producing the Over Under Media and Red Granite Pictures production. ‘Frank’ Soundtrack Details

imageSilva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Frank. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks, as well as the songs performed by the film’s cast. The label has previously released the original song I Love You All performed by The Soronprfbs, which is also included on the soundtrack, as a single. Frank – Music and Songs from the Film will be released overseas on September 15, 2014. No domestic release date has been announced yet. Frank is directed by Lenny Abrahamson and stars Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scoot McNairy. The movie follows a wannabe musician who joins an avant-garde pop band led by a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head.
