World Premiere Release of Michael Kamen’s ‘Venom’ Score Announced

Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1981 British horror thriller Venom directed by Piers Haggard and starring Sterling Hayden, Klaus Kinski, Sarah Miles, Nicol Williamson, Oliver Reed, Cornelia Sharpe, Susan George and Lance Holcomb. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Grammy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Michael Kamen (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Die Hard, X-Men, Lethal Weapon, The Three Musketeers, The Iron Giant, Mr. Holland’s Opus) who recorded his score with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. The album features the original songs from the film written by Neil Hannon (of the band The Divine Comedy) and performed by cast members including Timothée Chalamet, Hugh Grant, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton & others, as well as a new versions of Pure Imagination & Oompa Loompa (written by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley for 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory).
